About Do Makes

Welcome to DO MAKES, a family-inspired creative studio based in Columbus, Ohio. As both an artist and the sole operator of this business, I handle every aspect of our operations from production to sales, while proudly collaborating with my talented family members to bring three distinct forms of art to you:

• Original Fine Art Paintings by Angelo Franco and Rosemary Duda. Angelo is a distinguished artist with over 50 years of experience trained at the Art Students League of New York, weaving deep emotion and decades of dedication into his canvases. Rosemary holds a BA in Art History and draws inspiration from the natural world to create serene, elegant landscapes and floral masterpieces.
• Whimsical Nature & Character Illustrations by me (Van), hand-drawn using vibrant acrylic paint markers to bring a modern, playful, and joyful energy to our collection.
• Handmade Crochet & Fiber Arts by my mom (Thi) and me, featuring everything from lovable plush characters and everlasting flowers to cozy fashion accessories.
• The Meaning Behind Our Name Our name reflects our core philosophy: “Do” represents action and the courage to create, while “Makes” highlights our passion for thoughtful craftsmanship. Together, it embodies our mission of sharing warmth, imagination, and joy with the world.

Running DO MAKES is a true family effort in spirit—beautifully supported by my husband, a musician, who helps bring our artistic stories to life. As the lead artist and sole business owner, I am dedicated to weaving all these talents together to build a meaningful brand.
